Funding conditions

What is funded?

Investment in plants for the chemical or biochemical recycling of plastics.
Investments in innovative recycling plants for the material use of plastics that contribute to closing carbon cycles.
Funding is not available for plants that are primarily used to generate energy. In particular, this includes biogas plants or plants for biomass incineration.

The following are eligible to apply

Companies in the commercial sector that have their registered office, a branch or a permanent establishment in the Free State of Bavaria.
The subsidized plant must be used at one of these locations.

Funding is provided in the form of a grant towards the eligible costs.
Funding is provided on an expenditure basis.
Funding is provided in accordance with Art. 17 GBER for SMEs:
- 10% funding of the investment costs for medium-sized companies,
- +10% funding of investment costs for small companies (up to 20% possible in total),
- The funding amounts to a maximum of € 8.25 million per company and investment project.
Alternatively, funding is provided in accordance with Art. 47 GBER as investment aid for the additional investment costs:
- Funding rate: 40% of the additional investment costs,
  - 40% +10% for medium-sized companies,
  - 40% +20% for small companies,
  - +5% if in an area with a special need for action.
- The funding amounts to a maximum of €30 million per company and investment project.

The system must achieve a positive climate protection effect (proof, for example, through GHG certification after completion of the project) of at least 40% compared to the state of the art.
The system must correspond to a level of TRL 8. Proof of feasibility is required at the time of application.
The project must be carried out in Bavaria.
