Bayern Innovativ GmbH/Vanessa Mund,
A guided city walk through Würzburg invites you to experience sustainable building at the intersection of tradition and innovation. The tour is part of the EU Interreg project DECORATOR and shows how architecture connects the past and the future.
Experience sustainable building up close!
On November 22, 2025, Prof. Dr. Matthias Staschull from the University of Würzburg will give a guided tour of Würzburger Frauenland and show how tradition and modern architecture have been in dialogue here for over 100 years.
Further information will follow shortly.
How can we learn from what already exists in order to build for the future? This walk through Würzburg's Frauenland invites you to discover traditional and innovative architecture and to consider together how we can use the built heritage as a "quarry of ideas" for contemporary buildings.
At selected stations - from the neo-baroque university building to residential buildings with Art Deco decorations and modern, barrier-free extensions - art historian Prof. Dr. Matthias Staschull, head of the local board of trustees of the German Foundation for Monument Protection, shows us how sustainable building has been successful in Würzburg for over 100 years: through the reuse of materials, innovative solutions and the dialog between old and new.
The event is free of charge. We look forward to your registration!
