Beyond Silicon 2026 - Export control and data protection information

This event will take place on the premises of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS.
In accordance with the applicable export control regulations and the internal security requirements of Fraunhofer IIS, participation in the event is subject to an export control check. Participation in the event is not possible without providing the necessary data.

Responsible party and data recipient

The organizer of the event is Bayern Innovativ GmbH, which acts as the controller for the processing of personal data within the meaning of Article 4 No. 7 GDPR.
For the purpose of the export control check, certain personal data will be transmitted to Fraunhofer IIS as the data recipient.

Categories of personal data

The following personal data is processed

  • First and last name
  • Nationality(ies) (in the case of multiple nationalities, all applicable nationalities)
  • Employer and address of the employer

Purpose of the processing

The data is processed exclusively for the following purposes

  • Carrying out an export control and security check approximately one week before the event
  • Verification of eligibility to participate on the day of the event

Legal basis

The processing and transmission of personal data takes place on the basis of

  • Article 6(1)(c) GDPR (fulfillment of legal obligations in connection with export control and security requirements) and
  • Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the lawful and safe organization of the event and in controlled access to the event premises).

Data transmission and on-site verification

Your employers adress, Your full name and nationality(ies) will be transmitted to Fraunhofer IIS approximately one week before the event to carry out the export control check.
On the day of the event, participants are required to present a valid official photo document (identity card or passport). The name on the ID document will be checked against the list of approved participants.
Fraunhofer IIS will only use the data provided to carry out the export control check and will not contact the participants directly in this context. All communication in connection with the export control check is carried out exclusively by Bayern Innovativ.

Storage period

The personal data required for the export control test will be stored by Bayern Innovativ GmbH for the duration of the event and for a maximum period of six months after the event. At the end of this period, the data will be deleted unless there are longer statutory retention obligations.
Fraunhofer IIS receives the data exclusively for the purpose of carrying out the export control check. The data will only be stored by Fraunhofer IIS for as long as is necessary to fulfill this purpose; thereafter, the data will be deleted in accordance with the applicable statutory retention requirements.

Prerequisite for participation

Participation in the event is only possible after successful completion of the export control examination.
If participation is not permitted, you will be informed by e-mail by 27.04.2026 at the latest. Only participants who are not permitted to participate will be notified by e-mail. Participants who do not receive a corresponding notification will be deemed to have been admitted to participate.
If participation is not permitted after the export control check and a participation fee has already been paid, this will be refunded in full.
It is the participant's responsibility to ensure that the e-mail address provided during registration is correct and is checked regularly.

Confirmation of data processing and transmission:

The participant confirms that his/her full name and nationality(ies) will be processed and transmitted to Fraunhofer IIS solely for the purpose of an export control check in connection with this event.

Confirmation of accuracy:

The participant confirms that the nationality information she/he provided is complete and correct.
