2. Scenario technique

"What if... ?" - The scenario technique is a method in which different, future developments are worked out. In doing so, we start from the current situation and determine alternative scenarios of a topic. Together, we determine the development up to a defined target year. The result is a strategy tool that you can use for alignment and planning and to raise awareness of potential, future developments.

Scenario Methods Methodology Step 1

Step 1: Research and Analysis (Framing & Scanning) First, the goal and the project framework (eg: the development of XYZ by the year ...) are determined. Then, internal data is collected and further research on the topic is implemented. Thus, a data-based and holistic picture about possible influences.

Step 2: Scenarios and images of the future Now the facts that have been developed are analyzed: Which aspects build on each other - which contradict each other? From the combination of facts, pictures of the future are created, which are the basis for the next step of the workshops.

Step 3: Future analysis and strategy derivation The images of the future are discussed and analyzed with internal and, if necessary, external experts. This results in "implications" - i.e. concrete possibilities for action. The insights gained in this way form the basis for the strategic direction of your business activities.
