The federal funding for efficient buildings (BEG) of KfW was today (24.01.2022) with immediate effect occupied with a temporary program stop.
This has the Board of KfW after consultation with the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) last weekend jointly decided. The enormous flood of applications in recent weeks, which has gained considerable additional momentum in recent days, leads to exhaustion of the budget funds provided by the Federal Government for the Federal Promotion for Efficient Buildings (BEG); the program therefore had to be stopped also and in view of the provisional nature of the budget management. In the period from November 2021 to the present day alone, KfW has received applications amounting to more than 20 billion euros in funding.
The BMWK and KfW will decide swiftly on how to handle the applications on hand that have not yet been committed, as well as possible alternative funding offers.
