KW Energie also ended fiscal 2021 with a remarkable business performance. The outlook is also promising.

The turnover of the BHKW manufacturer KW Energie GmbH & Co. KG from the Bavarian Freystadt has grown by 19% to 24.5 million euros compared to the previous year. And this despite the fact that the 2021 financial year was marked by some imponderables, according to a company statement. The effects of Brexit and the Corona pandemic are listed here, as well as the increasing bottlenecks in the supply of components and spare parts.

Despite this, the result turned out to be extraordinarily positive. With the 19% increase over the previous record year of 2020, the company recorded its fourth consecutive year of "outstanding results" in 2021. The number of CHP units delivered also rose by 19% to over 450, also a new record.

The Brexit has left clear traces in the foreign business, it was said. Business with the British partner, for example, had been severely affected and had suffered significantly from the changed framework conditions. Nevertheless, thanks to an outstanding business performance in the Benelux countries, the overall export share was increased to 37%. KW Energie also reported a very positive development in its online store for spare parts, which was able to increase its sales by 14 % to now 1.5 million euros. With regard to last year's problems, managing director and owner Andreas Weigel explained: "Fortunately, we succeeded in defusing the spare parts problem via new suppliers, so that we were able to prevent an imminent production stop." He added that since a very reassuring order cushion had also been carried over into the current year, the outlook for 2022 was currently very promising.
