BICCnet

The I&K Cluster network is now at Bayern Innovativ

BICCnet had as a cluster of the Bavarian Cluster Offensive the task to promote networking and technology transfer in the field of information & communication technology (IuK) in Bavaria.

BICCnet

From 2016, BICCnet was integrated into the Center Digitalization.Bavaria, and has since been fully absorbed into Bayern Innovativ. BICCnet as an organization and brand no longer exists. The networks, topics and also some contacts have found their place at Bayern Innovativ. Links to the thematic networks at Bayern Innovativ can be found at the bottom of the page.

Munich BICCnet IT Cluster - Network merged to Bayern Innovativ

BICCnet, the Bavarian Information and Communication Technology Cluster, was initiated by the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, and aimed to activate and interlink the innovation and productivity potential of the Bavarian enterprises, research centers and universities. As of 2016, the cluster was integrated into the Zentrum Digitalisierung.Bayern, and ceased to exist as organization and brand. The activities and networks are now sustained by Bayern Inno-vativ - find some pointers in the link tiles below. Our topics include digitisation of mobility, en-ergy, manufacturing, health, agriculture, cities, and work itself. We remain at your service for connecting you to the cluster ecosystem and other technology-centered networks within the Bavarian economy. As Bayern Innovativ, we are actively participating in European projects, and encourage you to contact us about possible consortia. As Digital Innovation Hub, we remain a central node to reach and teach SMEs about digital transformation. With any questions and proposals, please contact Christian Thiel.

BICCnet Team

The BICCnet cluster's mission was to secure the growth of information & communications technology (IuK) in Bavaria. It was initiated by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs as part of the Cluster Offensive. BICCnet drove the networking of IuK companies both with each other and with research institutions and promoted the mutual transfer of knowledge.

This provided assistance - especially to small and medium-sized enterprises - in exploiting growth opportunities. The cluster also helped ICT companies to position themselves in an increasingly international context. One result of this is the SmartCityTech consortium - under the joint umbrella, companies from Bavaria and other European regions are currently offering technical solutions to shape the smart cities of the future. The best-known activities of the BICCnet cluster were the major networking event Innovation Forum Embedded Systems, BICC Open Labs (science exchange), BICCtalks (larger evening events with experts on focus topics), and technical working groups such as the AK Multicore. Targeted cooperation initiation was achieved through open space and B2B matchmaking - from this, for example, the association Embedded4You was founded. Thematically, BICCnet has taken up the topics that are changing IT and society over time: Embedded Systems, Geoinformation Systems, Multiformat Convergence in Multimedia, IT Services, Cyber-Physical Systems, App Applications, Mobility, IT Security, and Renewable Energies. BICCnet was driven by the team at the cluster office in Garching - each topic was associated with a name and face for the network.
