Funding for cybersecurity applications

The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) has launched a new funding program for the "Development of Digital Technologies". The German government's goal is to ensure that the German economy remains competitive in the supply and use of digital technologies. The funding program runs from 2022 to 2026.

Focus areas of the funding program are technologies, applications and ecosystems. In the Technologies focus area, the following topics are in particular focus:

• Methods of AI development of AI models
• Latest communication technologies e.g. 5G and 6G
• Building blocks & Components for IT-Security-Technologies
• data technologies to create federated and high quality data spaces (Data Spaces) with technological support from GAIA-X
• Quantum computing software and utilization concepts
• Geoinformation systems (GIS) and environmental data technologies

Applications especially in these areas are addressed:

• Digital Production (Industry 4.0) and sustainability
• Intelligent Living and Working Environments
• Resilience Enhancement through Intelligent Systems for Crisis Prevention and Response
