Technology Transfer Congress 2022: Successful networking with over 300 guests

05/14/2022

This year's Augsburg Technology Transfer Congress brought together over 300 guests, 74 speakers and 35 partners. Held at the Walter Technology Campus in one of the former Fujitsu office buildings, the congress was held under the motto: Change Meets Innovation! With the handover of 3 funding decisions to joint projects of the AI production network Augsburg, State Secretary Roland Weigert confirmed the innovative strength of the region A³.

The event was held for the first time again as a pure presence format and attracted over 300 guests. Networking and exchange were in the foreground - that was important to the partners of the TEA network and the organizers of the Regio Augsburg Wirtschaft GmbH. Bayern Innovativ participated, among other things, with formats such as the Speakers Corner or a matchmaking area.

In the program of the congress, the AI production network, which is funded with around 92 million euros by the Free State of Bavaria, was a focal point. Thus, a total of three funding decisions were handed over to collaborative projects and several projects were presented by the partners from science and industry. "We are already supporting more than 20 projects involving over 70 partners with a total volume of over 17 million euros," emphasized State Secretary Weigert from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. "This also includes these new funding projects". All three projects aim to use artificial intelligence to improve production processes and make them more efficient.

The Augsburg economic region is to become even more competitive against the backdrop of structural change and technological transformation, and the AI production network is the centerpiece of our growth offensive. The aim is to research the use of artificial intelligence in production processes and rapidly transfer the technology to industrial applications. "To this end, we are investing a total of 92 million euros in scientific research and the profitable transfer of findings to companies," says Roland Weigert.
