GREENTEX: Textile-based façade greening for historic industrial buildings
06.10.2025
With the GREENTEX project, TITV Greiz is working with partners to develop a sustainable solution for greening historic industrial facades. The aim is to repurpose unused buildings using textile plant nets made from functionalized yarns. These enable gentle attachment to the façade, supplemented by integrated moisture sensors for optimum plant care.
Greening combines climate protection, resource conservation and cultural preservation. GREENTEX stands for modern, sustainable construction methods based on textiles - and involves future designers at an early stage through creative workshops. The result is a forward-looking interplay of textile technology, building culture and environmental awareness.
