Bioeconomy International 2025

17.09.2024

As part of the National Bioeconomy Strategy, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) intends to strengthen collaborative projects involving foreign partners in research, development and innovation.

Since a sustainable bioeconomy must be considered globally, worldwide cooperation is required in order to achieve the desired goals for establishing the bioeconomy. This is where the BMBF's funding measure comes in, to strengthen research and development projects and international cooperation with key partners. Funding is provided for research, development and innovation projects in alliances with partners from Vietnam, Thailand, Australia and Brazil, which are selected as part of a competitive process. The projects must be based on one of the following research modules:

  1. Biological knowledge as the key to the bioeconomy
  2. Converging technologies and interdisciplinary cooperation
  3. Limits and potentials of the bioeconomy
  4. Transfer to application
  5. Bioeconomy and society

Research Module 6, "Global Research Cooperation", must also be addressed.

The required project outlines must be uploaded to the associated internet portal by November 25, 2024.
