The CEPA® energy façade developed by the Austrian company TOWERN3000 has successfully passed the large-scale fire test in accordance with DIN 4102-20 and ÖNORM B 3800-5.

This means that the system can now also be used in building classes 4 and 5 in Germany, an important step for the serial refurbishment of existing buildings.

The technology was intensively tested with over 1,000 sensors and 3,200 meters of cable.

  • Serial refurbishment with timber modules and VH façades
  • Highly thermally insulated rendered façades
  • Low-maintenance VH façades with a high degree of prefabrication
  • Integrated heating and cooling systems for efficient low-temperature operation

The system combines insulation, heating, cooling and storage in a single unit, enabling energy-efficient, climate-friendly refurbishment, even when the building is occupied. The façade acts as an active heat store and distributes energy via the exterior wall in a similar way to underfloor heating.

For housing companies and local authorities, passing the fire protection test and tested technology brings clear benefits: shorter planning processes, greater safety and economic efficiency. This is also confirmed by the "SüdSan" research project in Bludenz, where two apartment buildings were successfully renovated with CEPA®.
