Horizon Europe and Canada

The Canadian "New Frontiers in Research Fund" is co-financing the participation of Canadian institutions in European collaborative research projects in Horizon Europe with its "2022 Horizon Global Platform Competition" program.

A total of 40 million Canadian dollars will be provided. Currently, Canada is not yet an eligible third country, but has expressed strong interest in joining the
EU's Horizon Europe research program. First exploratory talks with the European Commission are led.

Currently, first tenders are open. Projects under Pillar 2 " Global Challenges and European Competitiveness" will be funded, with a submission deadline still in 2022.
