Digital nursing applications - evaluation of the nursing benefit

Digital Care Applications - Evaluation of Nursing Benefits (02/21/2022)

Every day, several million people in Germany are dependent on nursing care. The shortage of skilled workers has long been a challenge in this field, exacerbated by demographic change and, most recently, the pandemic. As a result, the workload and time pressure on nursing staff or family caregivers continues to rise.

Technical innovations in the medical field are intended to provide support here and thus enrich the everyday lives of people in need of care and make the work of caregivers easier. The basis for this is the "Digital Supply and Care Modernization Act (DVPMG)": As unwieldy as the name sounds, the use of digital care applications has not yet arrived in a comprehensive, sustainable and effective manner. Why this is so and what still needs to be taken care of in the process, we talk with our guest Prof. Dr. Jürgen Zerth - Vice President for Research and Institute Director of the Research Institute IDC at the SRH Wilhelm-Löhe University in Fürth.
