The Institute for Energy Technology IfE has published a white paper on municipal heat planning. It is intended to be particularly helpful for employees of local authorities.
"With the white paper, we want to offer local authorities a practical and scientifically sound basis for efficient and sustainable heat planning," explains Markus Brautsch, Scientific Director of IfE. The 16-page document "Municipal heat planning" is intended to serve as a guide for municipalities and experts facing the challenges of climate-neutral heat supply at local level, the IfE announced on December 18.
The white paper explains the legal framework, players and processes that shape the heat planning process. The aim of municipal heating planning is to create a strategic basis that promotes the use of renewable energies and heating technologies at municipal level and thus makes an important contribution to the heating transition. The paper also addresses topics such as data procurement, the creation of a digital twin and the laws associated with heat planning.
The IfE at the East Bavarian Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden is dedicated to applied research and teaching in the fields of energy efficiency, energy systems and renewable energies. The institute focuses on the optimization of energy processes, the development of efficient technologies and the integration of renewable energies into existing infrastructures. Closely linked with regional industry and scientific partners, the IfE promotes knowledge transfer and qualifies students for the energy sector through practical projects. The IfE already supports more than 90 municipalities in Bavaria in municipal heat planning.
