[REVIEW] JULY 04, 2024 I AWARDING OF CERTIFICATE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION
"TRANSFORMATION MANAGER:IN SUSTAINABLE CULTURE"
04.07.2024
On July 4, 2024, the new "Transformerys" were celebrated at EinTanzHaus Mannheim. Certificates were awarded to 44 new graduates of the nationwide training course "Transformation Manager: in Sustainable Culture", who were certified in this round by the Rhine-Neckar Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Among them is our bayernkreativ colleague Florian Heilmayr. Congratulations to him! Florian was enthusiastic about the four-month training course, which helped him on several levels to prepare himself as a pilot for sustainable transformation in the cultural sector.
"Some of the messages have burned themselves into my consciousness. For example, the 1-3-5-7 rule (1 decision, 3 steps, 5 measures, 7% greenhouse gas savings per year). There were also very practical presentations, for example from the Burgtheater Vienna, which was one of the first theaters in the German-speaking world to achieve EMAS certification. Or a presentation on sustainability communication by Peter Unfried, editor-in-chief of the taz magazine FUTURZWEI. These and many other contributions still have an impact and have broadened and deepened my knowledge and attitude on the subject."

As part of the training, the transformation managers gained knowledge on topics such as climate protection and climate impact adaptation and developed skills to support and accompany cultural institutions on their transformation path. For the final exam, specific sustainability concepts for a cultural institution were developed in small working groups and presented to a high-caliber jury.
The small group in which Florian participated worked on the development of a sustainability concept for the Schauburg, a children's and youth theater in Munich. Transferring the theoretical content into practice was a great learning experience for Florian and very valuable.
"I have understood that not every well-intentioned idea can be implemented 1:1. It is always relevant to know the exact background, the organizational culture, the available resources and the practical processes of the respective institution. Then a lot is possible, because the willingness to do more for sustainability is present in many facilities."
