Under the motto of the circular economy and innovations in the textile sector, leading minds from industry, research and politics gathered in Augsburg on June 25 and 26, 2025 to jointly shape the future of the textile circular economy. The event, organized in cooperation with Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (THA), the Institute of Textile Technology Augsburg (ITA) and the Bavarian Textile and Clothing Industry Association (VTB), offered a diverse program on sustainable innovations and circular strategies in the textile industry.
The evening before, participants met for dinner in the restaurant of the Augsburg Textile Museum. In a relaxed atmosphere, contacts were made and the latest trends and innovations were discussed.
The day of the event itself offered a broad spectrum of impulses:
- Insights into the latest developments towards a circular textile economy
- Research up close: ongoing projects were presented directly by the companies
- Keynote speeches on new technologies, production processes, sustainability strategies and social integration
- Best practices for the pragmatic implementation of circular approaches
- Panel discussion with experts from the industry
- Networking with the circular textiles innovation community (DATIpilot)
Special thanks go to the numerous speakers who enriched the event with their contributions. They highlighted topics such as take-back systems for used textiles, the importance of data collection for efficient recycling and the role of society in the transition towards greater sustainability.
Textil Innovativ 2025 was a complete success - with inspiring discussions, innovative solutions and a clear goal: to actively and jointly shape the transformation of the textile industry.
