Review Meetup - Creative Tech for Impact
The CreativeTech Meetup by Bayern Innovativ I Kreativwirtschaft brings together players from the creative industries, technology, research and industry in a curated yet open exchange format. The aim is to combine creative perspectives, technological innovations and new fields of application in the spirit of cross innovation and to open up new opportunities for cooperation. The format offers a low-threshold introduction to the CreativeTech network and is aimed at anyone who is interested in creative tech, XR, virtual worlds, art and technology or would like to develop these topics for new products, applications and business models.
In the first "Creative Tech for Impact" meet-up, the participants of the Cross Innovation Journey 2025 presented their follow-up projects, which were developed during the trip to Ars Electronica, and thus demonstrated how interdisciplinary collaboration between the creative industries, technology and research can produce innovative approaches for the future.
For example, the cooperation between DIPLOMA University and isento GmbH around the humanoid robot pib, presented by Prof. Daniel Nusser (DIPLOMA University) on behalf of Jürgen Baier and TJ Graebe (isento), shows how design, product semantics and strategic future issues can be developed together. Students will be looking at design language and product semantics as well as future usage scenarios for humanoid robotics.
The Performing Robosonic research project, presented by Elias Naphausen (Sound Design, research focus on human-machine interaction) and choreographer Alexandra Rauh, combines industrial robotics, sonification, choreography and performance practice. The aim is to research new forms of multimodal communication between man and machine and to derive practical applications from this.
With V.I.B.E., Shila Rastizadeh (Creative Technologist, XR/Art), Felix Laarmann (AI, Computer Vision & Design) and Robert Hoffmeister (Goodly Technologies GmbH, VFX & XR eye diagnostics) show how XR, AI and MedTech can work together. The project combines artistic exploration with technological development and opens up perspectives for future neurological diagnostics.
The Habitat project, presented by Felix Laarmann and Anne Weberndörfer (Ignota GmbH, Film), combines VR, AI and cinematic archive work. The aim is to make memory tangible as an immersive spatial experience and to develop new forms of digital narration.
As part of the Meetup, a preview of the BMT conference (Biomedical Engineering) from October 6-8, 2026 in Augsburg was given. The conference is aimed at an interdisciplinary specialist community from research, medicine, engineering, industry, students and young professionals. Sonja Unger (XR Bavaria, Extended Reality Bavaria e.V.) and Prof. Sebastian Zaunseder (University of Augsburg) are calling for the co-creation of a creative tech contribution or session, especially for actors at the interfaces of MedTech, XR, creative technologies and art and technology contexts.
With Lumalign, Quirin Münch (CAT Productions GmbH) and Anne Weberndörfer (Ignota GmbH) presented a cross-innovation project between design and MedTech. The sensory table object combines aesthetic design, motion capture and preventive health approaches for everyday office life and is expected to be developed into a prototype as part of funding approaches such as the innovation voucher and the NPP funding guideline.
Veronica Liebl (Managing Director FESTIVAL PRIX XHIBITIONS at Ars Electronica Linz) presented opportunities for participation in the Ars Electronica art exhibition.
The Meetup impressively demonstrated how creative ideas, technological innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration can provide concrete impetus for the future. A kick-off that whets the appetite for more and allows the CreativeTech network to continue to grow.
The CreativeTech Meetup will take place two to three times a year in future.
