The new "Way to H2" platform is the first to provide a clear overview of hydrogen-related training courses throughout Germany. It already lists 200 offers.
The "Way to H2" platform brings together a broad spectrum of hydrogen-related training courses for the first time - it is aimed at students, career changers, companies and HR departments looking for specialists in the hydrogen sector. The hydrogen network "HYPOS e.V." is the operator of the portal.
According to a statement from the innovation network, the portal was created as part of the "REVIERWENDE" project together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS). This is a project of the German Trade Union Confederation that accompanies the socio-ecological structural change in the former coal regions. It aims to support employees, companies and regional stakeholders in developing new qualifications and shaping the transition to a sustainable economic structure.
The "Way to H2" internet platform brings together around 200 offers from Germany and some from abroad. The spectrum ranges from basic seminars and certificate courses to advanced courses for specialists and managers. On the platform, users can find programs on the production, storage, transport and application of green hydrogen as well as courses on safety, standards and approval.
Targeted search for courses
Interested parties can use a filter function to search specifically by region or subject area. This allows regional focuses such as the Central German, Rhineland or Saarland regions to be included. This function is intended to make it easier for companies in particular to find suitable training courses for their locations or projects. It gives them the opportunity to strategically link their own personnel development with the market ramp-up for green hydrogen.
HR departments can use the tool to search specifically for courses that prepare them for the planning, operation, maintenance or regulation of hydrogen plants. According to the network, the portal thus makes it easier to prepare for new requirements in energy supply, industry and mobility. Training providers can also add their own courses and thus expand the overview.
With the website, the network is responding to a key problem in the industry: the fragmented training market. The association explains that until now there was hardly any systematic, Germany-wide overview. The new platform creates the necessary transparency and enables targeted training in light of the increasing demand for skilled workers in the hydrogen economy.
According to Hypos, a detailed launch of the platform is planned for next year. Until then, "Way to H2" will remain a living directory. The network is calling on training providers to enter their own offers and thus actively help shape the platform. "Way to H2" is available on the Internet.
