New KreativIndex shows the challenging situation of the cultural and creative industries in Bavaria

The vbw and the Bavarian State Association of the Cultural and Creative Industries (BLVKK) have presented the new KreativIndex, which sheds light on the economic situation of the cultural and creative industries in the Free State of Bavaria. With a score of just 76 out of 200 points, the index reveals a difficult situation for the industry. Challenges such as a shortage of skilled workers and increased production costs are emphasized.
The index consists of sub-indices on employment, expert opinions and media coverage. The results show that the majority of experts expect the business situation to deteriorate and call for increased support from politicians, particularly in the areas of funding structures and infrastructure. The KreativIndex is intended to serve as a transparent evaluation basis for developing suitable measures to ensure the future viability of the cultural and creative industries.
