Interview: Three questions for Peter Ivanov

29.07.2025

In our short series "Three questions for...", we interview selected personalities on various topics. Among other things, the questions address topics that are discussed by the interviewees in the form of keynote speeches or other activities at Bayern Innovativ events.
Today we address our short interview to Peter Ivanov, Managing Director Automotive / Mobility, Valtech GmbH.
Peter Ivanov is one of the speakers at our network conference "Innovations for the mobility of the future" on 20.11.2025 in Munich.

Dear Peter, what inspired you personally to focus on your presentation topic "How connected services and UX are shaping the mobility of tomorrow"?

Peter Ivanov: When it comes to connected services, we see two major trends that are intertwined. One is customer experience and the other is personalization. The customer experience is about improving the customer experience and enabling natural interaction with digital services that allows users to interact quickly and conveniently. In the best case scenario, this interaction is predictive, i.e. users' wishes are anticipated.

What key challenges do you currently see in the design of sustainable solutions for the mobility of tomorrow and how can your experience help to solve them?

Peter Ivanov: We see three central challenges. Firstly, there is the issue of data protection. The more intensive the networking in mobility is, the more data has to be shared and the more important it is to handle customer data responsibly.
Then there is the question of monetization for the providers of these services. Are the services so interesting that customers are willing to pay for them and can a profitable business model be established?
Last but not least, connected mobility always poses the challenge of technical implementation and, above all, integration. The more connectivity, the more systems have to be integrated and you usually have to deal with a large number of different legacy systems and sometimes find complex group system landscapes.

How do you think mobility will change in the next five to ten years, and what role will your topic play in this?

Peter Ivanov: Digital services will play a very important role in making mobility attractive, convenient and quickly accessible for users. Multi- and intermodal mobility will only be possible through digital services. These services require an intuitive user experience and must be able to be integrated seamlessly and individually into the customer's mobility ecosystem.

Thank you very much for this interesting short interview. We look forward to hearing more from you soon at the network conference "Innovations for the mobility of the future"!
