It is impossible to imagine Stadtwerke Rosenheim in the 2000s without Dr. Götz Brühl. Now the utility has to rethink: a new Managing Director has been in office since the beginning of the year.

Dr. Götz Brühl (67), a prominent representative of the energy industry, has retired. He stepped down as Managing Director of Stadtwerke Rosenheim at the end of 2024 after more than 22 years in office.

Heiko Peckmann is now in charge at the Upper Bavarian utility. He has moved up internally and was most recently Head of Technical Services and Energy Market (since 2021). He joined Stadtwerke in 2009 as a planning engineer and was promoted to Head of Planning in 2016.

Götz Brühl has left his mark beyond his commitment in Rosenheim, for which he gave up the management of Stadtwerke Lemgo in East Westphalia in 2002. The energy technology engineer, who holds a doctorate, was active as a networker and lobbyist, for example in the AGFW district heating association, of which he was Vice President, and the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW). The European Association of Independent Electricity and Gas Suppliers Geode elected him President in May 2017.

In Rosenheim, he drove forward the climate-friendly supply of electricity and heat. In 2022 and 2023, the municipal utilities commissioned three iKWK plants, including river water heat pumps, to make district heating more environmentally friendly. The utility took its first steps in electricity and heat production using wood gasification based on wood chips back in 2007. A large biomass gasification plant has been connected to the grid since 2023.

The fact that Stadtwerke Rosenheim and its parent company, the municipality to the south-east of Munich, were obviously extremely satisfied with Götz Brühl's work is also reflected in public statements. In the customer magazine "Powerbladl", which was also produced under Götz Brühl's aegis, Supervisory Board Chairman Andreas März (Lord Mayor, CSU) and Stadtwerke Vice Chairman Karsten Mevissen recall the achievements of the former Managing Director. The magazine devotes eight pages to Götz Brühl in retrospect.

His successor is more reserved in the publication. He is looking forward to "actively shaping" the future of the energy supply together with Rosenheim's population. Heiko Peckmann is now responsible for around 450 employees at the utility.
