Green Assist Call: Getting green projects ready for investment

Sustainable transformation requires, above all, investment-ready concepts. With the Green Assist - Call for Projects, the EU supports SMEs in bringing green projects to investment maturity. The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) acts as a central point of contact for companies and supports them on their way to the Green Assist advisory service.

The key data of the call:

  • Period: 23.02.2026 to 18.05.2026
  • Budget: €3 million (reserved for expert services)
  • Target group: SMEs with green projects and a minimum volume of €1 million

Important: Green Assist does not award grants, but offers free, customized consulting services.

The focus is particularly on SMEs supported by the EEN in the areas of the circular economy and bioeconomy. The projects must have a clear environmental benefit and reach a minimum investment volume of 1 million euros.

Green Assist offers individual expert advice, including on

  • Business model development and market analysis
  • Financing and funding strategies
  • Environmental validation
  • Monitoring, reporting and verification
  • Regulatory, governance and technical compliance

Who can apply?

SMEs based in the EU (as well as Ukraine, Moldova, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Iceland) that have a valid VAT ID and are not currently receiving LIFE funding are eligible to apply. The project must have a clear environmental benefit (e.g. biodiversity, climate adaptation or greening of industry).

  • Requirements check: we explain the details of the call to you.
  • Pre-screening: We check in advance whether you and your project meet the criteria to maximize your chances of success.
  • Selection process: We explain the ranking system (Relevance > Maturity > Impact).
