Researching matter on large devices

Large-scale facilities for basic scientific research are an essential part of the German research infrastructure. The methods and measuring equipment used must be optimized in order to use the large-scale facilities efficiently.
With the framework program "Exploring the Universe and Matter", the Federal Ministry of Education and Research aims to continuously improve the performance of large-scale scientific equipment. The funding is intended to develop and build powerful instruments and improve existing instruments. In addition, new research methods are to be developed and research groups at universities are to be strengthened for the next generation of scientists. The focus of the research is on new and extended uses of large-scale scientific equipment for science and industry, in this case sources of photons, neutrons and charged particles for "exploring matter".
Applications for funding must be submitted to the project management organization by November 4, 2024 at the latest using the "easy-Online" application system.
