How can circular business models and sustainable product strategies be implemented in practice? In this practice-oriented workshop, you will learn how to make your products more sustainable using the EU project CURIOST, the 10R strategy and the design thinking method.
How can we use our resources sustainably and shape a sustainable economy?
In this free workshop, we will provide a practical introduction to the concept of the circular economy and present the EU project CURIOST - an initiative that brings the circular economy to life.
What is the circular economy?
The circular economy is a future economic model based on sustainability, resource conservation and waste avoidance. In contrast to the traditional linear model ("take - use - dispose"), the circular economy focuses on reuse, repair, recycling and intelligent product design, among other things. The aim is to keep materials in the economic cycle for as long as possible and thus secure resources in the company's own operations in the long term.
EU project CURIOST
CURIOST is an interdisciplinary project dedicated to the implementation and promotion of the circular economy in practice. It combines research, education and creative implementation to develop sustainable materials, products and processes. The project brings together stakeholders from science, business and society to work together on solutions for a resource-conserving future.
Further information on the EU project CURIOST can be found at Interreg project CURIOST: Bayern Innovativ
What exactly is the workshop about?
Our interactive workshop will provide a brief introduction to the EU project CURIOST, which supports companies in the transition to circular business models. The basics of the 10R strategy will then be presented - a central framework for circular product design that ranges from avoidance ("Refuse") to recovery ("Remine").
Participants will then be given a practical introduction to the design thinking method, a creative and user-centered approach to developing innovative solutions. Participants will work in groups to develop initial ideas for circular products or services and develop rough prototypes.
Finally, there will be an outlook on the next steps in the CURIOST project, in particular working with the Circular Business Model Canvas.
The free workshop not only offers in-depth knowledge and practice-oriented methods, but also space for exchange, collaboration and inspiration for circular transformation in your own company.
