Using energy when electricity is cheap: electricity provider Rabot Charge is now integrating its dynamic tariffs into systems for the automatic control of household electricity consumers.

Hitherto, home energy management systems (HEMS) have primarily been used to optimize self-consumption by owners of PV systems. If Rabot Charge has its way, this will soon change: Three HEMS control centers (Clever-PV, GridX and Solarmanager) will in future have direct access to the provider's dynamic electricity prices.

According to Rabot Charge, this means that around 50 heat pumps, 100 wallboxes, more than 30 storage systems and 70 e-cars can be controlled in the future in a way that optimizes electricity exchange prices. "Thanks to the cooperation with our HEMS partners, we cover over 200 different manufacturers and all asset types in the household. From the wallbox to the heat pump to the storage system, all sectors in the household can be operated in an exchange price-optimized manner in future," says Jan Rabe, CEO of Rabot Charge. The company is planning further collaborations so that all controllable systems and devices at home can be linked to the Rabot Charge tariffs in the future.

According to Rabot Charge, there are currently around 40 HEMS systems in Germany. Eight systems can therefore optimize PV self-consumption as well as adapt flexible consumption devices to variable electricity tariffs. Three of these eight providers are now cooperating with Rabot Charge.
