The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) funds research and development projects in the field of materials science and materials engineering on the basis of the framework program "From Material to Innovation". The aim of the funding through "NanoMatFutur" is to enable young scientists to build up their own and independent junior research group (at least four people).
The subject of the funding are individual projects at universities (universities / universities of applied sciences) and non-university research institutions. The funding is person-specific tied to the leadership of the junior research group. The funding amount per project is limited to a maximum of 1.95 million euros. The measure is handled by Projektträger Jülich or VDI Technologiezentrum GmbH, to which the submission of project outlines is scheduled in two rounds of calls. The deadlines for this are September 15, 2023 and 2024.
