Cooperation for events on "circularity": Establishment of Open House Days (ITA Augsburg)

Verband der Bayerischen Textil- und Bekleidungsindustrie (VTB) initiates cooperation between ITA and Bayern Innovativ: Increasing the visibility of ITA events: Establishment of Open House Days

At the suggestion of the Verband der Bayerischen Textil- und Bekleidungsindustrie e.V. (VTB), a cooperation between the Institut für Textiltechnik Augsburg gGmbH (ITA) [1], the Technische Hochschule Augsburg (THA) [2], the VTB [3] and Bayern Innovativ was initiated in 2025. The aim of this cooperation is to make research at the ITA and THA more visible and to promote exchange with companies in Bavaria and nationwide for the development of innovations and the initiation of research projects.

Two events are planned for 2025 that will focus in particular on ITA research topics and implementation: a webinar, which took place on April 2, 2025, and a face-to-face event at the beginning of October, which will present the latest developments and projects in Augsburg. In addition, the 1-day event organized by Bayern Innovativ on the topic of "Textile industry in circular change" will take place at the end of June 2025, which will be organized in cooperation with VTB, ITA, THA and Bayern Innovativ [4].

The Institut für Textiltechnik Augsburg gGmbH is an independent research institute that develops innovative and practical solutions for the textile processing industry and creates new products in close cooperation with industry and the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. The institute is divided into the three specialist areas of composites, AI and textile recycling, in which research and development is carried out [1].

ITA Augsburg is also the platform owner of the Recycling Atelier, the world's first model factory for mechanical textile recycling.The first DATIpilot innovation community, Circular Textiles (CirTex), which was selected for funding as part of the DATIpilot funding guideline of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), was opened at the THA in the Recycling Atelier on October 15, 2024 [6].

The ITA organizes events at regular intervals to increase visibility, provide information about new research projects and establish networks. The ITA has currently established a one-day event, the Open House Days. Two of these events per year are planned for 2025. The next event of this kind will take place on Thursday, 10.04.2025 [7]. Interested companies are invited to visit the machinery, find out about the ITA's tasks and research projects and discuss opportunities for future cooperation.
