Contents
Chapter 1 | Figures:
On our behalf, Prognos AG collected all the figures for the industry. For example, from the Bavarian State Office for Statistics, the tax offices, the Employment Agency and the Artists' Social Security Fund. In "Zahlenwerk" you will find exciting information on every submarket - but also, for example, on the development of the proportion of women, start-ups and the craft sector in the CCI.
Chapter 2 | Structured:
Chapter 2 "Structured" consists of an overview of the funding programs that are relevant for the cultural and creative industries - sector and submarket-specific, but also funding structures without direct reference to the sector.
Chapter 3 | In dialog:
30 interviews were conducted by industry expert Dr. Henning Berthold with stakeholders from the individual submarkets, representatives of the municipal/regional contact points for cultural and creative professionals, Bavaria's chambers of industry and commerce, various state funding institutions and individual state authorities. Around 350 cultural and creative professionals from all over Bavaria also took part in our online survey. "In Dialogue" therefore goes (even) deeper, questions and explains some of the statements from chapter 1 and deals with the question of how the industry perceives itself and which development-relevant topics are currently in focus, among other things. The collected material also gave us the opportunity to take a look into the future of the industry.
Chapter 4 | From the field:
(Cross-) innovation through and with the cultural and creative industries! Eight case studies describe the amazing results of cross-border cooperation. By means of cultural and creative industries' ways of thinking and working, in cooperation with other sectors, organizations and individuals, remarkable solutions have been developed, which are vividly presented in "From the field".
Chapter 5 | Recommendations for action:
The ten resulting recommendations for action consist of concrete proposals for consolidating, further developing and securing the future of the Bavarian cultural and creative industries.
Highlights
The cultural and creative industries in Bavaria: VITAL - VERSATILE - COOPERATIVE - FUTURE-RELEVANT
- The new figures show that the sector is of central importance for the economy of the Free State of Bavaria as well as nationally.
- Its development is positive in terms of all three core indicators (employees, turnover and gross value added).
- The significant growth in the number of employees subject to social insurance contributions is particularly pleasing, while the number of people in marginal employment has fallen.
