Summit meeting of the German creative industry in Hamburg | GERMAN CREATIVE ECONOMY SUMMIT 2025

Be there when representatives from music, film, books, press, architecture, broadcasting, performing arts, design, software and games as well as art and advertising meet in Hamburg on March 5 and 6, 2025 for the German Creative Economy Summit (GCES). The summit, the largest industry meeting of the eleven submarkets of the cultural and creative industries in Germany, promises interesting discussions on current challenges, opportunities and potential, exciting impulses and the opportunity to network.

In terms of content, the Summit 2025 is dedicated to four central tracks:

  • Work & Education: How is the future of work in the creative industries shaping up? What strategies are there for further training and promoting young talent?
  • Urbanization & Sustainability: What contributions can the creative industries make to ecological, social and economic sustainability and urban development?
  • Policy: To what extent do the creative industries have a positive influence on democracy and strengthen it? How does it help shape the political framework?
  • Technology & Innovation: What opportunities and challenges does digitalization and artificial intelligence pose for the creative industries? How does the creative industry drive innovation at the interface with other sectors?

The venue is the Kulturfabrik Kampnagel in Hamburg. The extensive program is spread across several stages on the site.

The first German Creative Economy Summit took place in 2024: 177 speakers, 88 program items and 850 participants made the first summit a milestone for the industry. As a leading platform, the GCES connects creative professionals and companies from all 11 submarkets of the creative industries with decision-makers from politics, science, associations and national funding institutions. The congress is organized by the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, a public funding institution for the creative industries in Hamburg. Partner of the summit is the network of public funding organizations for the cultural and creative industries in Germany (Promoting Creative Industries - PCI). The Bavarian Center for Cultural and Creative Industries is part of the PCI. The German Creative Economy Summit is sponsored by the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media.
