Under the title "Innovative construction - simply future-proof", the construction industry met last Thursday for a symposium in Fürstenfeldbruck and addressed the question of how we can meet the challenges of urbanization, scarcity of resources, climate change and digital transformation and plan, construct and operate buildings intelligently, sustainably and efficiently in the future, but of course also renovate, redesign and recycle them.
"We are already planning and building tomorrow today," said Prof. Dr. Frank Petzold (Chair of architectural informatics, TUM School of Engineering and Design, scientific spokesperson for the "Innovative Building" thematic platform at Bayern Innovativ) aptly in his introduction, thus formulating a claim that the consortium in the Decorator project also has. Building simply, according to the credo, means designing and planning with foresight and examining the possibility of digital tools at an early stage.
The fact that materials and tools already exist was impressively demonstrated in the exhibition: From a GNSS assistance system for excavators, which allows the excavator to capture the space, to a web platform for fully automated building planning and even climate-neutral bricks.
Kudos to our colleagues from Energie und Bau for the excellent organization and the valuable impulses they were able to give us during the symposium. We look forward to taking away new ideas and suggestions for our own project work for the EU Interreg project DECORATOR "Circular Transformation in Architecture and Construction in the Danube Region" from the presentations and best practices.
