Review: XR for SMEs
23.04.2026
XR for SMEs 2026 provided a practical demonstration of how virtual, augmented and mixed reality can drive companies forward. Live demos, networking and impulses made the potential of XR tangible.
Two minutes can sometimes be enough to leave a lasting impression: Our colleague Johanna Lison, Project Manager at Bayern Innovativ GmbH, got to the heart of the matter in her pitch. With great clarity and energy, she presented the services and offerings of the CreativeTechHUB and showed how good ideas can be turned into real innovations through strong networking, active cross-innovation and targeted access to new markets. Her conclusion from the day: if you want innovation, you have to create spaces in which exchange is possible and new things can grow.
But it was not only on stage that the future became tangible. The event offered a broad panorama of extended reality, from virtual reality and augmented reality to mixed reality. Numerous practical application examples made it clear that XR has long been more than just a trend: the technologies are ready for use in everyday corporate life and open up concrete added value.
The exhibitor area was particularly lively. Here, XR could not only be viewed, but experienced directly. Visitors immersed themselves in virtual worlds, tested applications and took away fresh ideas and valuable inspiration for their own projects. It was precisely these moments of trial and error that made the day so special.
XR for SMEs 2026 impressively demonstrated how close the future already is and what potential it holds. Organized in cooperation with the XR HUB Bavaria and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria, the event was aimed specifically at small and medium-sized companies as well as self-employed people who want to discover and harness XR for themselves. A day full of inspiration, exchange and new perspectives.
