BAUHALPS in Nuremberg: Milestones, methodology and cooperation

28.07.2025

On July 17 and 18, 2025, the partners of the EU Interreg project BAUHALPS - Building circular in the alpine space met in Nuremberg for the steering and technical committee meeting. We were the hosts - Bayern Innovativ/bayernkreativ.

How can circular building be promoted in the Alpine region? The EU Interreg project BAUHALPS deals with this question and implements approaches of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. As part of the two-day partner meeting, the status of work was discussed and the next work phase prepared. Among other things, methods for activating local communities, initial drafts for mapping local resources (relationships, skills, materials, technologies, etc.) and a maturity model for evaluating circular, NEB-compatible building practices were presented. Particularly exciting in all of this is the combination of culture and technology, aesthetics and rationality, human-centered design and the development of new technologies for building in cycles. The model will be extensively tested in the next phase of the project, the pilot phase. Its preparation was the focus of the second part of the program.

Both public spaces and residential buildings will be considered, spread across the program area of the Alpine project. The partner meeting was accompanied by the project's supervisory committee, which met in Nuremberg for its constituent meeting and provides strategic support for the consortium's work.

Last but not least, the meeting served to strengthen common standards, ensure the quality of project activities and concretize further cooperation.

Two productive days, characterized by collegial exchange, professional depth and joint planning. The project is entering the next phase with a clear focus and strengthened team spirit.
