Studying technology at Vorarlberg UAS has been an established career path in the Lake Constance region for more than two decades. Students can choose between electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering and mechatronics. Intensive networking with industry, research centers and laboratories complements the theoretically sound education with practical implementation in project work and theses. Individual choices and international experience, e.g. through semesters abroad or study trips, are special features of studying at the FH Vorarlberg.

Study and research at the FH Vorarlberg

In research, Vorarlberg UAS works closely with the regional economy in six research centers. One of these research centers - the Digital Factory Vorarlberg - is a research, training and transfer center specializing in digitization. In collaboration with industry and SMEs, the center develops methods for digital manufacturing, can conduct tests in a model factory or provide knowledge and support for the realization of digitization projects within its corporate partners. Specific topics include cloud-based manufacturing control systems, data analytics, artificial intelligence for prediction or optimization, development and use of digital twins, connectivity and IoT, or IT and OT security. Customized seminars to qualify company personnel are available or can be developed.
