Since CMBlu Energy AG was founded in 2014, the company, which is based in the Rhine-Main region, has been developing organic solid-flow batteries and is now one of the world's largest developers of highly efficient non-lithium-based energy storage systems in the multi-megawatt range. The flexible storage solutions can be used along the entire value chain and help to balance energy production and energy consumption. In collaboration with leading university working groups and industry partners, CMBlu Energy has been developing the key technology for an environmentally friendly and sustainable energy transition since 2014. The aim is to make a significant contribution to a secure, efficient and sustainable energy supply. To this end, the company is also involved in national and international associations.

SolidFlow batteries store energy in organic molecules - just like nature. They are safe, sustainable and inexpensive, their raw materials are available in almost unlimited quantities and they are not based on insecure supply chains or conflict-ridden mining methods. This makes SolidFlow energy storage systems a key component in the development of a global climate-neutral energy system. The organic SolidFlow batteries are flexibly scalable and offer a wide range of possible applications, e.g. in the storage of wind and solar energy, the optimization of grid charges (peak shaving), for industrial plants or the provision of power for simultaneous fast charging of electric cars.
