Profile
The Center for Applied Energy Research e.V. (CAE) was founded in 2022 as a non-profit association in Würzburg. The purpose and objective of the CAE is to promote science and research in the form of energy research as well as education, training and further education; in addition, to provide advice, information and documentation in all areas relevant to energy research. The purpose of the statutes is realized in particular through the maintenance of a scientific research institute. The CAE's research and development activities aim to transfer ideas into practice in cooperation with commercial enterprises and other research partners and thus make the greatest possible contribution to a sustainable, CO2-emission-free and economical energy system. The CAE acts as a bridge between basic research and market-oriented development. With its working groups "Climate-neutral buildings and districts", "Smart functional materials", "Advanced thermal management", "Sensors for energy and hydrogen technology" and "Energy system management and technology integration", CAE carries out the necessary research and development work for industry and provides new impetus for innovation. In a separate Innovation Hub, the future topics of "hydrogen technology" and "digitalization in energy technology" are supported separately and synergy effects are achieved.
