The OHM-CMP sees itself as a research partner and service provider for applied research and development in the fields of chemistry, new materials and product or process development in the Nuremberg metropolitan region. Supporting industry in the development of new products and processes is thus intended to further strengthen the region and make it more livable.

The OHM-CMP can support industry in various ways:

• Services in the fields of analytics, materials testing, engineering and additive manufacturing
• Commissioned research in the working areas of the professors involved
• Consulting on specific tasks
• Consulting on longer-term research projects

The institute is financed in these tasks mainly from direct contract research as well as public research contracts.

At OHM-CMP, various additive manufacturing methods are being investigated and applications developed. This ranges from FDM, SLM and SLA with polymers to SLS with metals and digital electronics production using additive methods. In the process, the materials and methods used are constantly being further developed and adapted for specific applications together with partners from industry.
