Wassim Saeid
"Wassim Saeidi was born in Lebanon in 1987 and founded his first company in
Germany in 2014. As a pioneer of the Industry 4.0 movement, he won the German Industry
4.0 Award in 2017 for his innovative business model that used augmented reality in
automotive production to optimize operator guidance and quality control. But he
quickly realized that pure efficiency could not be the ultimate goal.
In 2019, he took the bold decision to terminate all his automotive contracts - an
industry that often viewed people as nothing more than a cost factor. Instead, he dedicated himself
to developing service robotics solutions that are not only technologically innovative,
but also address real societal challenges: the growing
shortage of skilled workers in healthcare, pharmacy and industry.
His key moment came in a small, overworked hospital laboratory. A lab technician,
who had been commuting two hours a day for years, feared retirement - not for personal
reasons, but because the lab would close without her. The introduction of a collaborative
robot relieved her of this burden. To thank her, her husband baked a cheesecake - a moment
that meant more to Wassim than any business achievement: technology can't
just automate - it can relieve, connect and preserve humanity.
Today, as CEO United Robotics Group Health and Food, he has global responsibility for the
development and strategic direction of service robots in the healthcare sector. In doing so,
the focus is on building a fully comprehensive service robotics family that manages to:
integrate robotics, AI and humanity in a common space that supports both in
laboratories and in patient rooms, in everyday hospital life and in care
He is convinced that the future of robotics does not lie in the substitution of human work,
but in empowering people - through technology that is designed with empathy, meaning and
humanity."
