Max-Planck-Institut für Astrophysik

The Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics, or MPA, is located in Garching and is the largest German institution for theoretical and interpretive research in astrophysics and cosmology. Areas of interest include stellar astrophysics, computational astrophysics and cosmology, structure, evolution and clustering of galaxies, cosmic large-scale structure, gravitational lensing, microwave background studies, and physical cosmology.
