Summary

Tailored solutions in metallurgy and materials technology

Profile

The company COMTES FHT was established in December 2000 as a small engineering company. In 2007 the company transformed into a private research institution according to the EU rules. In 2011, within the framework of the establishment of the Western BM Research Center for Materials and Metallurgy (supported by EU structural funds), the existing laboratories were significantly expanded. In addition to a laboratory building for metallography and computer simulation, a completely new metallurgy hall was built within the framework of this project, in which experimental melts are cast and further processed (by forging, rolling, etc.). COMTES FHT's range of services is rounded off by a comprehensive range of mechanical testing and thermophysical measurements.

In the research facility in Dobřany (near the Nürnberg-Prague freeway,  approx. 70 km before the Bavarian border) COMTES FHT today employs more than 80 people, of which approx. 40 are development engineers with university degrees and many years of experience in research and development. COMTES FHT cooperates with numerous renowned research institutions (Fraunhofer IWU, University of Warsaw, Federal Research Institute)    and supplies technical solutions to many major industrial companies such as Škoda, voestalpine, Mubea, Schaeffler, Bilstein.
