We are a young start-up company in Switzerland that offers a patented marking technology for injection-molded parts. We have developed mold inserts that write an individual, optically readable 2D code in fractions of a second during the molding process (injection molding, thermoforming, blow molding). The mold insert, which is manufactured using microtechnology, is installed in the cavity of the mold and writes a DataMatrix code into the component independently of the molding machine and process, which can change from shot to shot. In this way, each component can be linked to the material and process data and its quality can be tracked throughout its entire value chain - ideal for automotive parts, for example. This technology works for practically all types of plastic and does not require any additives or change the cycle time. Easier, faster, more integrated and more cost-effective than lasers or labels.

Today, up to 10,000 different plastic parts are used in a car - most of which are manufactured using injection molding, thermoforming or blow molding. With increased quality standards and regulatory requirements, traceability is becoming increasingly important in many areas.
