Electromobility: municipalities in focus

Municipalities and their key position in electromobility

As an interface to the population, municipalities play a key role in all aspects of electromobility. On the one hand, the installation of charging points is not yet part of a municipality's precautionary duty, but on the other hand, there is growing pressure from the population for corresponding offers. The charging station is just the beginning, not the end. This is because charging stations only offer an environmental benefit if they also put more e-vehicles on the road. In this area of conflict, there is often a great need for information regarding eco-balance, suitability for everyday use, standards or legal requirements. The Electric Mobility Competence Center offers initial guidance and supports local authorities on their individual path to electric mobility. On behalf of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Competence Center does not provide advice, but rather sees itself as a neutral and pragmatic point of contact to guide municipalities through the entire electromobility system.
