Farewell to cluster management

Since March 2019, Dr. Benedikt Sykora has served as cluster manager for the Southern Bavaria region (Upper Bavaria and Swabia) and, since April 2022, also for cluster stakeholders in Lower Bavaria. He will now devote himself to new challenges in the industry. The search for a successor is underway, so that we can provide as soon as possible again a personal contact for the needs of the actors, the transfer of knowledge on trend topics of digitization in engineering, production and operation of manufacturing companies in Bavaria.

Sykora had, after an industrial training, studies and doctorate, the members of the cluster in Swabia and Upper Bavaria cared for, won new ones and was particularly committed to the maintenance of the cluster network in new online formats in times of the pandemic. In addition, he moderated our strategic innovation topic groups in the fields of "additive manufacturing" and "robotics". He will be known to many cluster stakeholders as the organizer of our cluster community booths.

"Benedict had hardly any opportunity to get to know the established ways of networking before the pandemic. The contact restrictions imposed by COVID-19 also demanded a lot of innovation from us in cluster management. Here I thank him for his exemplary commitment," says the head of cluster management Heiko Bartschat. "We wish Benedikt much joy in his new tasks!" and adds with a wink, "We are pleased to know that he is an experienced networker in the industry."

Until a successor is found, Bartschat and Thomas Ramming, Cluster Manager in Northern Bavaria, will take over Sykora's tasks on an interim basis.
