Integrated manufacturing and development chain in drive technology

05/06/2022

On May 5, 2022, the Cluster Mechatronics & Automation at the host SPN Schwaben Präzision Fritz Hopf GmbH invited to the symposium "Integrated manufacturing and development chain" in Nördlingen. Together with the cooperation partner Projekthaus Augsburg of the Research Center for Gears and Gear Systems (FZG) of the Technical University of Munich, the symposium, which is held jointly at regular intervals, was held successfully again in attendance form after a long time with numerous participants.

In addition to the highlight of an exciting and extensive plant tour through the production of SPN with insights into various areas, the presentations of the speakers rounded off the symposium. The managing director and host, Rainer Hertle (SPN Schwaben Präzision Fritz Hopf GmbH), demonstrated how digital production is already being successfully implemented in the company, for example in tool databases and NC programming. Stefan Sendlbeck and Nicolai Sprogies (Research Center for Gears and Transmission Systems) addressed the joint project FORCuDE@BEV in their presentation and provided insights into the development of BEV transmission data models and the methodology for the development of innovative drive systems.

Hubert Kraus (Zollner Elektronik AG) showed how to successfully develop products through simultaneous engineering. Christian Seitel (GROB-WERKE GmbH & Co. KG), who was online from quarantine, described how digitalization optimizes the company's own manufacturing facilities and makes them more efficient. Finally, Maximilian Fromberger (RENK GmbH) gave insights into how digital process chains are successfully used in the company's own production.
