As a thematically appropriate venue, a lecture hall of the Faculty of Applied Computer Science at the University of Augsburg provided an inspiring backdrop for the competition, in which the children demonstrated their Lego buildings, the associated software-controlled movable and multimedia elements and a project poster to a three-member jury.
The concept of the FIRST LEGO League is as simple as it is ingenious: children aged 6 to 10 work in teams - accompanied by one or more adult coaches - on technical issues, work with software and playfully learn skills such as division of labor, teamwork and presentation of results.
Robert Dölle, Project Manager of the Mechatronics & Automation Cluster at Bayern Innovativ, was very satisfied with the event: "It was very meaningful for me to be part of the jury and thus gain an in-depth impression of the children's thirst for knowledge and how professionally they approach technical issues at such a young age."
