Products

CAL (Controlled Axial Lifetime) freewheeling diodes are available in the voltage classes 600 V/650 V, 1200 V and 1700 V and with a rated current of up to 210 A. Depending on the frequency of the target application, customized versions with adapted switching characteristics are also available. Rectifier diodes and thyristors are designed for the 1600 V voltage class and cover a rated current range of up to 840 A, which corresponds to a chip area of more than 500 mm2. Various thyristor gate geometries (central or edge gate) enable an optimized bond layout in the respective customer design. All chips cover the extensive Semikron Danfoss module and system product range. This means proven technology with outstanding performance and reliability. All chips are compatible with various connection and mounting technologies. Our customers can also benefit from the wealth of experience of the Semikron Danfoss application team.

Technology

The transition from complete vehicle platforms to vehicle architectures with all-electric battery drives is progressing rapidly. These architectures will require scalable power electronics solutions for electric drive systems (EAS) that can economically realize a large power range. For vehicle manufacturers, this means an important competitive advantage. The new eMPack power module platform is based on a common module concept. It is being developed for EAS inverter architectures that cover a power range from around 100 kW to 750 kW. eMPack covers applications for 400 V and 800 V battery systems. The combination of silicon carbide technology with fully sintered, low leakage inductance Direct Pressed Die (DPD) technology enables unsurpassed power densities and high reliability in automotive applications.
