The Chair of Environmental Production Engineering at the University of Bayreuth has been researching the application and implementation possibilities of additive manufacturing in medium-sized companies for many years. The knowledge gained is transferred in the project Application Center 3D Printing Upper Franconia targeted to interested small and medium-sized enterprises. These companies should be enabled to recognize the potentials, opportunities as well as the challenges of additive manufacturing and implement them in their companies and processes. In the focal areas of metal-powder, polymer-powder, strand & fluid, post-processing, digital component and digital manufacturing, case studies are developed with the companies and published via events. The project forms the basis for the establishment of the research center Campus Additive.Innovations at the University of Bayreuth, which sees itself as an interdisciplinary think tank for researching, experiencing, learning and fathoming additive innovations. www.3dfranken.de www.additive-innovationen.de
