NTN, Security & Resilience

As part of the event, DLR (German Aerospace Center) will carry out security checks and a screening of all registered participants. Please note that a negative screening result may lead to exclusion from participation. We ask for your understanding for this measure in the interest of the safety of all participants.

Welcome to our specialist event on the strategic importance of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) for Europe's digital sovereignty. The focus will be on current developments within the European IRIS² program (Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity and Security by Satellite), which plays a key role for secure, resilient and sovereign communication infrastructures in Europe.

Global crises, geopolitical tensions and technological dependencies show: Europe needs robust, fail-safe and independent communication solutions. NTNs - i.e. satellite-based communication systems - are a central component of this. In combination with powerful terrestrial networks such as 5G and, in future, 6G, new opportunities are opening up to raise security, availability and resilience to a new level.

  • The vision and implementation of IRIS²: Europe's path to sovereign connectivity
  • NTN as the backbone for resilient and tap-proof communication infrastructures
  • The integration of 5G/6G in hybrid network architectures
  • Challenges and solutions in the area of cybersecurity and resilience
  • Industrial perspectives, market potential and European cooperation
