An Italian network of companies is looking for technologies for wireless charging of electric vehicles to optimize electromobility. Also sought are technologies for the development of asphalts that allow the optimization of road surfaces to make them more efficient for inductive charging.
Description
This group of Italian companies is active in the field of electromobility. They are in close contact with the company responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads in Italy, as well as with various local authorities.
Their goal is to optimize electromobility, and they are particularly interested in wireless charging solutions for vehicles. Wireless charging for electric cars is essentially an evolution of smartphone charging, which relies on magnetic resonance induction to transfer energy between a pad placed on the ground and another location on the electric car. They are also looking at technologies for developing asphalts that will allow the road surface to be optimized to make it more efficient for inductive charging.
Wireless charging will allow electric cars to connect to the power grid without having to use special plugs. It will be possible to charge the car in the garage or even while driving, thanks to special systems on highways that allow wireless charging of batteries while driving.
In addition to minimizing pollution and carbon dioxide emissions from electrification, the technology has several benefits. It enables more efficient use of battery capacity, which also optimizes charging times; battery size is minimized; usage is increased because there is no downtime due to vehicle charging; range anxiety and dependence on battery power are eliminated; a common platform for all electric vehicles reduces deployment investment; no charging station is required, saving land resources and sight obstructions; existing infrastructure can be used because no new grid infrastructure and transformation stations are required.
Wanted partners/advice:
The Italian company is looking for technology suppliers to provide the necessary support to implement the technology under licensing agreements. If the technology requires support and services for its implementation, the collaboration can be done under commercial agreements with technical support. If the development of the technology has not been completed, the Italian group of companies will provide its know-how to complete the development of the technology under technical cooperation agreements.
The Italian company is looking for industrial partners in the electric vehicle sector that have developed or are working on technologies for wireless charging of vehicles.
