Strategic Innovation Team - Robotics

Robotics is indisputably one of the most impressive fields of technology in which mechatronics is expressed as a paradigm of cross-disciplinary and function-integrating conception and development of products.

Their field of application is traditionally the technical automation of handling and assembly tasks and increasingly service robotics, in which humans and machines collaborate in a work task and share a workspace. In addition to technical aspects, psychological aspects (acceptance and qualification) must also be considered.

The further development of robotics and, in particular, innovative applications in production and service is of particular importance to our cluster - a so-called Strategic Innovation Topic (SIT) identified in discussions with our core players.

Now we have the plan from the cluster management to establish an associated SIT team for this topic. To include all modern types of robotics, we could call this SIT Robotics. This would include the following types of applications in addition to those for industrial robots: Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Exo-Skeletons, (End)-manipulators, Simulation, Safety, Sensing (Image Capture, AI) and others.

The aim of the SIT is to jointly launch (research) projects through the exchange of experts from industry and science, to support the cluster management in planning thematically appropriate events, and to draw the attention of the funding body and possibly politics to needs in the industry.
